Fully Alive

The 6 month old pup had a great time back in Michigan with a beautiful back yard and a foot of snow. Carmella was exactly where she belonged.

It was hard to come back to the busy suburbs of Chicago where the houses are nearly on top of each other and Carmella is therefore couped up inside our house.

Carmella has been quite a bit to handle and has pretty much driven me crazy at times back in Chicago, but this past weekend has granted me more compassion.

It also reminded me of some of Eldredge's writing about a man's heart. He writes about how our culture (Christian culture especially), has killed a man's heart by taming it to the point at which it is no longer beating, but dead.

So I hope that I can have compassion and grace on my growing pup - good practice before any kids come in the picture I guess. But to anyone out there...are you where you belong? Are you in a place where you are confined and living a safe life or are you living the life you were created for? Like Carmella, we are too often caged up inside when we were made for so much more. But the comfort is so tempting...

A nice pic of the fam

Nice pictures- and what you write about is so true. Are we just cooped up in our safe little lives? Or are we meant for so much more? I love you all!
